Version 1.1.2 is buggy. Im unable to pick a model (error message). The viewport and cursor freezes. I cant get back to HOME. Im forced to shut down my iPhone. Version 1.1.1 was great! Thanks

Very cool app, mildly frustrating as I cant get the masking function to work properly, this really needs to be fixed to make this app effective. Over all this is quite impressive. I am a VFX artist with a decent amount of sculpting experience in Zbrush and I must say this app, while presently limited on the iPhone is a promising vision of whats on the way

Seems to be a decent start, but a few bugs in ios6 make this unusable. One big one is that I cant see any of the sculpting tool icons. They are all blank! Also, the shortcuts dont work (bottom ones are even covered by menu bar). Lots of potential here, fast with really nice way of getting around a scene, but overall it is a beta app at best. Im really puzzled why Apple considers such rough code as worthy of the App Store. I guess they still get their 30 percent... :(

This app is wonderful for the iPad, however, it needs to be optimized. It is constantly crashing, especially when subdividing. Also, retinal support would be appreciated :)

I would love to see support for pressure sensitive styluses that are on the market. Especially the pogo connect which is the best Ive used so far. Keep adding features and this app will be great.

In this app, you can move the clay up and down where grid lines inersect. Thats all you can do.

What this app has that others dont: Import and export standard obj through itunes folder, export to email too. Masking. Adjustable lighting with second finger, no menu required. Symmetry on any axis. You can increase mesh detail of the entire model. You can see the mesh density. Selection tool. Alternate depth tool. Also, you can set it so when you swipe a stroke from off the model, it does not move the model, and allows you to sculpt freely from more angles. I very much prefer two finger scaling and rotating that this app allows. FYI, it is very quick and easy to access alternate functions with second finger in one of four corners. In this way you have instant access to light position, smoothing, depth cutting tools. For this review, the standard is that abc 123 sculpting program, which is reliant on uploading your design to a community locked in that app system without having real interoperability between its other apps, and paying too much for an obj export feature. What no app thus far has reproduced is the dynamic remeshing seen in desktop sculpting platforms that cost $700. Forger, for the insanely low price and mobility, is an essential tool for my constant on-the-go character design process, and serves me well as the base mesh creator to import to my desktop sculpting and uv painting apps. If this app were upgraded to feature dynamic remeshing, with pressure sensitive stylus support, it would eliminate one of my desktop sculpting apps. I cant demand this from the few dollars i spent.

This app was way too difficult and not intuitive at all like other art or creativity apps. Its too.... I dont even know. It was also not worth my $3. I wouldnt even say its fun or learnable. Just a tedious mess. Not easy or useful. Just costly. Also no good in app home menu or anything. And setting are per project so no brush settings or profile preferences. Needs ALOT of work.

This app is amazing! Just what I was looking for. This has pretty much all of the functionality of zbrush!! This beats 123d sculpt AND it doesnt cost $7.99 to export! Controls are taking me a minute to get used to. But I love the interactive light, subdivision controls, making, and material change. love it! Gonna use this extensively!!!

Though it is great on iPad, it still need to be smoother like autodesk 123d. Really needs iPhone 5 optimization. Instead of going to menu to change settings and tools put it on the sides when in landscape where is is black on iPhone 5 and have tools disappear when not. Just needs to be updated and have some bugs fixed. Sometimes the brushes dont work properly. And have save project also instead of only export. Keep it up! If fixed, app will easily destroy competition. Add texture too instead of just colors.

Ive been waiting for this. So far its the most comprehensive 3d sculpting app. Having an app with Zbrush capabilities would really help my work. Ive imported objs which is great. At this point I really wish the transform tool affected selections and then there would be a way to pose a sculpt.

I am floored at what a great app this is.The controls are easy to use and smooth.The results are stunning .Another A+ is that the user guide is viewable on the screen while youre working on a project (Very helpful for us begginers ).

This is a nifty little sculpting and modeling app that is really nice. I was able to figure it out fairly quickly. Dont listen to others who rate it badly it just shows that they didnt read the tutorial that is already there otherwise they would understand it better and how to use it. This is like a mobile version of mudbox or even Zbrush though its not that advanced yet obviously but still its helpful to game developers on the go. I feel the design and controls are a bit touchy but not too bad at all!

Literally the worst app ever. Its useless, and it crashes a lot.

Im thankful that there are the very few people out there that provide things like this to the creative crowd. Who would ever have thought just a few years ago that at some point you could model in 3D on your PHONE? Amazing.

Its very good so far! It occasionally crashes if I load up a high poly. model. A bit more time in development and this will be perfect!

Love the concept. Program too unstable for real work. Every time I sink some time into a model the program crashes. Every time. Wish I had money back.

Amazing app - especially for those who arent artistic but wish they could create. I wish there was a female bust & body option - since I havent figured out how to shape a mans head into a womans. I also wish it was easier to focus on a specific part of the sculpture, and that there was a brush to move or enlarge features (such as the eyes or mouth on a bust or body)

I was very excited to find forger on the app store. However there appear to be some problems with the application: Bug #1: The standard brush does not appear to function at all or very little, even at max strength. Bug#2: The move brush functions as a standard (zbrush standard) brush, moving points on their surface normals as opposed to in screen space. In addition, there are several interface issues purchasers should be aware of. Issue #1: Brush size and strength are very limited. For example, you can max out the smooth brush strength, but the effect is minimal even on low res meshes. Issue #2: Materials only support diffuse and specular illumination. No ambient and obviously nothing like MatCap (zbrush). Issue #3: Sculpting is dependent on outliner selection and outliner selection drops without warning. Issue #4: No shortcut for switching subdivision levels. Issue #5: Some buttons open modal dialogs, breaking the interface paradign of the iPad. This makes for an awkward user experience. Goodthings®? Supports Multi-resolution surfaces, unlike sculpt 123D. Supports hiding, masking and selections. Supports Obj in and Obj out, so you theoretically could use it as part of your pipeline for sketching ideas on the go. Supports constant shading for checking silhouettes. Supports wireframe display so you can see exactly whats happening with your mesh structure. Unfortunately, given the current state of the app, I cant recommend it. Ill update this review if the concerns Ive marked up are addressed by the developer.
